If you are buying a Ulip, ensure you are invested for long term

I have a money-back policy but it is not a very good one as the returns are low. I plan to take up another one. What options do I have? I can invest up to `10,000 per year.

Money-back plans, due to their very structure, are conservative investment options aimed at minimizing risk and providing certainty to the policyholder. To increase your re- turns, you can look at a unit- linked insurance plan (Ulip) that fits your budget. Before your final decision, compare various products and their charge structures–one-time and recurring–and look at the effective yield on a policy growing at 10 percent per annum. Ensure that you stay invested for the long term.
