LIC to increase risk coverage of weaker sections in Himachal

To provide a social security cover for weaker sections, Life Corporation of India (LIC), is all set to surpass last year’s target of bringing more than 59,000 people under a life cover that also provides additional benefits.

In 2009-10, LIC had provided a risk cover for 59,000 BPL persons in Himachal and this year we are sure to surpass that number, he added.

There were four kinds of schemes for the economically backward classes, which included Janashree Bima Yojana, Social Security Group Schemes, Krishi Shramik Samajik Suraksha Yojna and Aam Admi Bima Yojana, he said.
