Rocket Sale of Endowment Plus

The Chandigarh division of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has topped among 107 divisions of the firm in the country by selling maximum policies of ULIP-based Endowment Plus, which was launched yesterday. “On the first day of the launch, our (Chandigarh) division sold maximum number of policies of Endowment Plus among our other offices in the country,” LIC (Chandigarh) Senior Divisional Manager Raghupal Singh told reporters here today. Out of total 18,736 policies of Endowment Plus sold so far in the country, Chandigarh division sold 1,317 policies, followed by Indore division selling 725 policies, Gorakhpur 519 policies. Delhi occupied seventh position by selling 452 policies, he said. Significantly, out of total premium of Rs 9.31 crore collected from this new plan, Chandigarh division contributed Rs 4.65 crore, which is almost 50 per cent of total premium collection, he said. Chandigarh division looks after UT Chandigarh, Ropar, Mohali, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Sangrur. LIC launched Endowment Plus, a unit-linked product yesterday across the country, which provides partial withdrawal after 5 years and also loan equal to one third of total fund value after 3 years. Chandigarh division ranks 16th among its 107 divisions across the country in terms of premium collection.
